stranger danger The noises and sounds I hear at night,

the wind rustling through the leaves.

Flowing past the tallest trees.

The night owl hooting as I catch its sight.

It stares at me then takes its flight.

Some noises I hear grip me in unease

strikes fear in me to a certain degree.

As I walk home, I see a flashing light

held by a man, that yelled, ”come here, you!”

When I ran from him, he quickly followed.

As I was running, I saw down the street,

A boy from school I closely knew.

Once I approached my friend, the man behind slowed,

then the strange man turned around to flee.

Jessica Baatz

Hi everyone! My name is Jess. I have many talents, my favorite is easy to guess. reading is fun, but writing is the hobby that's number one. expressing visions and sights to see and emotions, I've experienced that have lead me to be stronger and independent, wiser and free, more expressive than I used to be. I write about fears though I'm rarely scared. I write about fallen tears as I let out the sadness, my make up tends to smear I write about love, but don't we all? everyone dreams of that person we adore that never fails to strike us in awe. I write short stories that may exercise your imagination and poems that you can relate to through visualization. I even write plays that have a modern tone, but a touch of the olden days. for me it gives me the chance to share with each and every creative person, any where and every where.

And fiery rain starts to fall. A distant cry cuts through the silent night and I am paralyzed by fear. Starlight happily glints on the vicious dagger that slips painfully into my…

What are the Elements of Horror and How to Define the GenreFictional horror is a complex and subtle art form that is not easily mastered. Defining this instrument of writing is an even greater entanglement of humanities senses, the mind, and what it is to be in a state of horror. Not all horror must be blatant in its portrayal, and…
